Agent-Ready data foundation connects fragmented public data, giving early warning of cabbage price swings about 90 days ahead.

TAIPEI, Taiwan, October 10, 2026 — BigObject Inc., a Taiwan-based data and AI company, has won the 2026 ASOCIO AI in Smart Agriculture Award for “AI Public Decision Infrastructure for Smart Agriculture,” a project that brings fragmented public agricultural data together so it can inform decisions earlier. In a cabbage research scenario, the combined data surfaced warning signals roughly 90 days before significant price swings.
The award was presented on October 6 at the ASOCIO Digital & AI Summit 2026 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
In agriculture, timing is everything. Cabbage takes months to grow from seedling to harvest, so by the time market prices reveal a supply-demand imbalance, planting decisions may have been made long ago.
The early signs, however, are often already there. Seedling supply, weather conditions and market transactions all leave a trail of public data. The problem is that this data sits across different agencies and systems, and rarely comes together in time to make a difference.
BigObject’s project draws on Taiwan’s Civil IoT data along with open data from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and other government agencies. Rather than treating every new question as a separate integration project, it prepares distributed data as an Agent-Ready data foundation that AI systems and AI agents can understand and use, while preserving the governance and context of the original sources.
That shared foundation supported several lines of research without rebuilding the data environment each time. Beyond the cabbage early-warning scenario, it was also used to compare fuel consumption across different crops.
Data that arrives while decisions can still change
At the summit, Claire Kao, Global Presales Consultant at BigObject, presented the project under the theme “Making Taiwan’s public agricultural data usable — while decisions can still change.”
Using the gap between planting and harvest as an example, Kao highlighted a central idea behind the project: the value of data depends not only on whether it exists, but on whether it can be used while there is still time to act.
“Many public-sector challenges aren’t caused by a lack of data,” said Wenwey Hseush, CEO of BigObject. “The data is there, but it’s scattered. By the time someone pulls it together, the best window for action has often passed.”
“Agent-Ready isn’t about collecting more data. It’s about preparing the data we already have so that AI can understand and use it, without losing its governance or context. This agricultural project shows that when data can be connected more efficiently, analysis starts sooner — giving decision-makers more time and better information to act.”
About the award
Founded in 1984, the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) represents the IT industry across the Asia-Pacific region. Its 2026 Digital & AI Awards recognized organizations across a range of AI application categories. Eight Taiwanese organizations were honored this year in categories spanning cybersecurity, public welfare, education, healthcare, smart agriculture, financial services, talent and future skills, and manufacturing and supply chains.
About BigObject
BigObject Inc. is a Taiwan-based data and AI company with operations in Singapore and Silicon Valley. Its work spans data integration, data governance, real-time data processing and AI services.
In 2024, BigObject launched Aralia, a decentralized data platform that turns fragmented data into a foundation AI can understand and use, enabling AI agents to work with data across distributed environments. Today, BigObject applies these capabilities in government and enterprise projects.
